Is there a place in the world more beautiful than Tuscany? I dont believe there is. Is there a place that has given the world as many excellent minds in every field and in every century? There is nowhere else. Is there a region with more initiates in Freemasonry? Possibly, but very few. Tuscany is the daughter of the Renaissance; the Renaissance is the son of the study of alchemy and the rediscovery of Neoplatonism. It is in this climate that the true Tuscan spirit is born: a free and open spirit, free of bigotry. On this fertile humus Masonic thought, brought by the English around the twenties of the seventeenth century, took root well.
